This is a rare August 20th, 1973 souvenir program from the one-week, Sacramento Light Opera Association production of the LIONEL BART musical "OLIVER!" at the Music Circus in Sacramento, California. (The Original Broadway production opened January 6th, 1963 at the Imperial Theatre in New York City and ran for 774 performances.) ..... The musical starred LEONARD NIMOY as "Fagin" and PAULA KELLY as Nancy" and featured ROBERT MILLER DRISCOLL, MICHAEL CAREY, BETH PETERS, STUART GETZ, BARBARA PERRY, JACK DANON, JIM MYERS and ART LUND ..... CREDITS: Book, Music and Lyrics by LIONEL BART ("Oliver!", "Blitz", "Lock Up Your Daughters", "Maggie May", "Fings Ain't Wot They Used T' Be", "Twang", "La Strada") freely adapted from DICKENS' "Oliver Twist"; Sets designed by CHARLES STANLEY KADING; Costumes designed by DWIGHT RICHARD ODLE; Choreographed by WALTER PAINTER; Directed by JACK BUNCH; Produced by RUSSELL LEWIS and HOWARD YOUNG ..... DETAILS: The oversized sixteen page program measures 9" X 12" inches and includes full production credits, photos and bios of each of the leading actors, photos of each member of the creative team, promotional text, a synopsis of the story and a history of the musical with several production photos ..... PLEASE NOTE: The scanned pages have been cropped due to the limitations of my scanner. The margins are slightly wider than shown ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear, this program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
