This is a rare souvenir program from the two-week, New York City Center revival of the FRIEDRICH DUERRENMATT play "THE VISIT" at the New York City Center in New York City. (The Original Broadway production opened May 5th, 1958 at the New York's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and ran for 189 performances. This revival opened March 8th, 1960 and ran for a limited engagement of only 16 performances.) ..... The play starred ALFRED LUNT and LYNN FONTANNE and featured THOMAS GOMEZ, GLENN ANDERS, JOHN WYSE, WILLIAM HANSEN, MYLES EASON, DAVID CLARKE, MICHAEL LEWIS, WILLIAM CALLAN, BURFORD HAMPDEN, EDNA PRESTON and EDITH GRESHAM ..... CREDITS: Book by FRIEDRICH DUERRENMATT; Adapted by MAURICE VALENCY; Sets designed by TED OTTO; Costumes designed by CASTILLO; Directed by PETER BROOK; Produced by THE PRODUCERS THEATRE ..... DETAILS: The oversized 16 page program measures 9" X 12" inches and includes full production credits, a number of photos and bios of the Lunts, promotional text, a history of the play and several pages of photos from the play and Lunt and Fontanne's previous stage successes ..... PLEASE NOTE: The scanned pages have been cropped due to the limitations of my scanner. The margins are slightly wider than shown ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There are pin holes in the top two corners, creasing along the bottom edge, staple holes in all four corners of the back cover, a small nick in the outside edge of the cover and a corner crease. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
