This is a rare August 12th, 1899 broadside (single page playbill) from the IRWIN'S BURLESQUERS Variety bill at the People's Theatre at 201 Bowery Street in New York City ..... The week's bill opened with W. C. FIELDS "The Tramp Juggler" in one of his earliest professional appearances. Others on the bill included the Latest European Novelty BARONESS VIOLA VON WALTENBURG "The Only Rival of Anna Held"; The Funny Irishmen FRED BAILEY and HARRY MADISON; The Favorite Comediennes LOUISE CARVER and GENIE POLLARD; The American Musical Three, SMITH, DOTY and COE "The Peer of all Comedy Musical Acts"; The Ever Popular HAGUE SISTERS (Maud and Edith) in their Up-to-Date Songs and Dances; America's Ideals, MINERVA LEE and HARRIETTE BRADFORD in "A New Diversion of Illustrated Songs" and the Modern Venus, M'LLE MARIE in Artistic and Classic Poses with Electrical Effects. The evening ended with the Effervescent, Sparkling Burletta, "A HOT WAVE" written by GEORGE H. FOSTER and W. L. BALLAUF and featuring W. C. FIELDS, B. H. SMITH, FRED BAILEY, HARRY MADISON, E. D. COE, C. W. DOTY, LOUISE CARVER, HARROIETTE BRADFORD, BARONESS V. VON WALTENBURG, EUGENIE POLLARD, MAUD HAGUE, EDITH HAGUE, MARIE BARRISON, PEARL CASTAGNINO, AGNES MARSH, ETTA GOODRIDGE, LOUISE SMITH, MINERVA LEE, LILLIE WOODS, MILDRED GILMORE, KITTIE VALMORE, MAMIE FRENCH, ALICE SCOTT and MAY STERN .....
