This is a rare March 29th, 1909 program (playbill) from the one-week, Post-Broadway engagement of the GEORGE GROSSMITH, Jr., L. E. BERMAN, IVAN CARYLL and LIONEL MONCKTON musical comedy "THE GIRLS OF GOTTENBERG" at the Colonial Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The Original Broadway production opened September 2nd, 1908 at New York's Knickerbocker Theatre and ran for 103 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical starred LOUISE DRESSER, JAMES BLAKELEY, LIONEL MACKINDER, JOHN E. HAZZARD, ERNEST COSSART (in what had been his Broadway debut), LESLIE GAZE, WARWICK WELLINGTON and EDWARD DAVIDSON and featured ROSS CLIFFORD, OVERTON MOYLE, RIDGWELL CULLUM, HENRY VINCENT, SARONY LAMBERT, R. R. NEILL, THEODORE WALTERS, the Messrs. GRANT and LEECH, C. A. MONROE, LEE CARRIER, MAY NAUDAIN, AIMEE ANGELES, ETHEL VIVIAN, ZANA CURZON, ANNA HALL, HAZEL NEASON, ORIOLA DAVIDSON, MABEL WILLIAMS, DELLA DOLVAN, MAMIE DuPONT, GRACE WALSH, GRACE RIOPELLE and ESTHER ROBINSON ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is paper and glue residue and surface abrasions on the back cover at the seam and two tiny rust marks in the top right corner of the front cover. Despite these flaws, this rare program will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
