Walnut Street Theatre playbill for A Woman of No Importance, starring Rose Coghlan, with a start date of March 26, 1894. Approximately 11” x 5”.In good condition, with slight chipping and loss to corners. Includes seat map on rear. General age-related toning to paper, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing Rosamond Marie (Rose) Coghlan (1851-1932) was an English actress who made her Broadway debut in 1872. Written by Oscar Wilde as a satire of British high society, a Woman of No Importance was first performed on April 19, 1893 at the Haymerket Theatre in London, and later made its way to Philadelphia, including performances at the Walnut Street Theatre. Built in 1808, the theatre is still in operation, and is additionally the oldest operating theatre in the United States.
