This is among a large number of playbills currently being listed from out-of-town tryouts prior to the Broadway runs. Many are from early performances when revisions were common and include song titles that were cut before opening in New York ....... This is a rare October 23rd, 1939 program (playbill) from the two-week, out-of-town tryout of the LAURENCE SCHWAB, RALPH RAINGER and LEO ROBIN musical comedy flop "NICE GOIN'" at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The production opened October 21st, 1939 at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut and closed November 4th, 1939 at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, canceling the scheduled Broadway opening.) ..... The musical starred MARY MARTIN, BERT WHEELER, LEE DIXON and PERT KELTON and featured TOM EWELL, ANTHONY ROSS, DON TOMPKINS, RALPH SANFORD, BILLY TAYLOR, DON TERRY, PHIL FARLEY, JOHN BARKER, CAROL BRUCE, HELEN RAYMOND, EDNA SEDGWICK, JOHN GUY SAMPSEL, JAMES CURRAN, TINO VALENTI, GLEN MOORE, RUSSELL BLACK, HUGH BRANNUM, JACK SMITH and JACK COLE and his Dancers .....
