This is a rare souvenir program from the Original Broadway production of the RICHARD RODGERS and LORENZ HART musical comedy "HIGHER and HIGHER" at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre in New York City. (The production opened April 4th, 1940 and ran for only 84 performances.) ..... The musical starred JACK HALEY, MARTA EGGERT and SHIRLEY ROSS and featured LEIF ERICKSON and LEE DIXON. Others in the cast (but not mentioned by name in the program) included EVA CONDON, ROBERT CHISHOLM, BILLIE WORTH, HILDA SPONG, MARIE LOUISE QUEVLI, GLORIA HOPE, HOLLACE SHAW, JANE RICHARDSON, ROBERT ROUNSVILLE, MARIE NASH, ROBERT STANLEY, JOE SCANDUR, RICHARD MOORE, CARL TREES, JANET FOX, FIN OLSEN, FREDERIC NAY, TED ADAIR, LYDA SUE, SIGRID DAGNIE, JOSEPH GRANVILLE, JANE BALL, VERA ELLEN and JUNE ALLYSON ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a small mark in the center of the cover and light creasing, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
